Seven Corporal Works of Mercy and Seven Deadly Sins in Czech Medieval Arts
Eichlerová, Eliška ; Vymazalová, Marie (advisor) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
The bachelor's thesis will deal with the theme of the seven-corporal works of mercy and the seven deadly sins in Czech fine art. These opposing themes develop primarily in a middle-class environment, where they were supposed to appeal to the moral life of the middle-class people. The first part of this thesis will discuss the development of the doctrine of the seven deadly sins in the Middle Ages. The variability of approaches to the seven sins will also be revealed by a comparison with the development of the doctrine of the virtues, where it is also possible to show the starting points for the formation of the medieval teaching on the seven-corporal works of mercy. The second part deals with the analysis of individual sins and acts of mercy, their meaning, and the way they are depicted. In the third part, I will also focus on individual examples of the depiction of this iconography in European art, and we will mention a few important works, especially from the High and Late Middle Ages. Following on from European art, the last chapters will focus on individual examples of the seven-corporal works of mercy and the seven deadly sins in the Czech environment, especially in the book painting and monumental mural.
Configuration and Reservation System for Concert Halls
Sikora, Vít ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Zendulka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This paper describes the implementation of a web application that enables configuring events in concert halls and defining sections and seats in those halls. Furthermore, application can run in a mode for end users that enables placing reservations in previously defined halls. Certain emphasis is placed on customizability so that it would be easy to integrate this application into an existing system. Implementation is divided into server part (REST API) realized using PHP 7 with Restler framework and to client part built as a single page application using modern Javascript (ECMAScript 2016) with React framework and transpiled to common Javascript and HTML using Webpack and Babel.
Preparation of SiN ultrathin films
Dvořák, Martin ; Voborný, Stanislav (referee) ; Mach, Jindřich (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with design, testing and calibration of an effussion cell generating silicon atomic beam having thermal energy (0,1 - 1 eV). These beams are used for the preparation of Si and SiN ultrathin films. Silicon nitride and its applications in semiconductor industry are reviewed. First experiments with deposition of ultrathin films of Si and SiN are described. These layers have been analyzed by x-ray photoelectron spektroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
A frequency inverter based on Texas Instruments DSP
Vašíček, Adam ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Valach, Soběslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on control algorithms optimization, especially using the Texas Instruments c2000 digital signal controllers family. The first part roughly describes an AC induction motor controlling and regulation techniques. Later on the control software optimization basics are covered. Particular attention is payed for trigonometric functions which are mandatory for such software. Next part shows practical use of the previously described optimization techniques using an example of the scalar frequency inverter control even going down to the assembly instructions level. At the end the results themselves as well as facing the invested price of optimization are discussed.
Selective growth of GaN on SiN
Hulva, Jan ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (referee) ; Mach, Jindřich (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the selective growth of gallium and gallium nitride on silicon nitride (SiN) substrates. Thin silicon nitride layers are deposited on silicon substrates. Oxide structures are prepared by the local anodic oxidation method (LAO) on SiN substrates. These surfaces can be editionally modified by etching in hydrofluoric acid. Modified substrates are used for the deposition of gallium or gallium nitride under ultra-high vacuum conditions. Consequently, ordering of deposited material was studied in areas modified by LAO. Chemical state of layers is studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Morphology of surfaces is measured by the atomic force microscope (AFM).
Man is Adam, man is Christ: according to st. Augustine
Šavel, Tibor ; Vopřada, David (advisor) ; Salvet, Ondřej (referee)
Annotation: This thesis will address the view of the state of man in paradise and the state of man at the moment of disobedience that occurred through an act of man's will contrary to the manifested will of the Creator communicated to the creature through reason and will. It will describe the condition of man who, through his incarnation, was accepted by the Son of God, namely Jesus Christ. This incarnation is a historical event and encourages man to follow the one who incarnated him. In doing so, man can participate in building the kingdom of God here on Earth. All this will be written according to the anthropology of St. Augustine, as described in his writing. Key words: man, disobedience, sin, will, freedom, healing, celebration
Dealing with the guilt of persons serving a sentence.
Doskočilová, Veronika ; Fošum, Jan (advisor) ; Mohelník, Tomáš (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the ethical topic of guilt and its processing in persons serving a sentence. The paper elaborates with the topic of guilt on a practical and theoretical level. The theoretical framework deals with concepts related to guilt (morality, good, evil, conscience, sin), then presents the concept of guilt and the possibilities of its processing. Based on the description of the theory, the theoretical part formulates questions, which are used in the practical part. It describes three case studies of persons serving a sentence. The research is devoted to their individual perception of guilt and subsequently to ways of coping with it. Special attention is paid to Christianity and its influence on the perception of guilt, as two persons believe in God. Research shows that guilt is a fundamental issue for people in prison, whether it is in its negative or positive manifestations. The research confirms the fundamental theoretical starting point that there is a line from the negative effect of guilt to its positive contribution. As all three convicts confirm, guilt is the path to awareness, acceptance, and finally to the correction. Although there are many ways how to deal with guilt, the key is willingness to be opened to cope with guilt. Though there are a number of shortcomings in...
The Narratives about Jesus' Healing of the Deaf and Blind in the Synoptic Gospels
Jurkulák, Petr ; Ryšková, Mireia (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of healing in the synoptic gospels. Illness and the suffering associated with it is a phenomenon that everyone encounters throughout their lives. We can look at illness and suffering from many different angles, and many scientific disciplines are studying this phenomenon. In my work, attention is focused on the meaning, meaning and perception of the disease from a human and theological point of view. The starting point of the work are excerpts from the synoptic gospels, which deal with the disease and the miraculous healing of the diseases of the human senses. Pericopes are divided according to the types of sensory impairments. Biblical events give us inspiration on how to perceive different life situations in accordance with God's purpose. These are model situations from which we draw lessons and inspiration in our life story. The introduction introduces the concepts of sin, suffering and illness from the perspective of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The next treatise then provides a view of the healing of the sick as a confirmation of the divinity of Jesus and the authenticity of Jesus' teaching. Healing by Jesus' disciples is also mentioned here. The main focus of the work is the exegesis of pericopes, ending with a summary of the main ideas of...
The sin in the czech baroque texts
ŠULISTA, František
This bachelor work focuses on the concept of sin in the Baroque period on the basis of literary sources. It takes into account the historical context from the previous Renaissance to the coming Enlightenment. It asks questions about the perception and assessment of the theological norm.It is based on published sources, especially Baroque prose and poetry, homiletic texts, shopkeeper´s songs, but also material sources.
